Climate Change Deal Refuted

While attending the climate change talks in Paris this week President Obama stated he wants any deal being negotiated to be legally binding. However, he’s expected to face strong opposition to any such move in Congress. South Dakota Farm Bureau President Scott Vanderwal sides with lawmakers that oppose that position. He doesn’t see climate change as the most important issue that needs to be addressed.

He says any possible binding agreement would be costly for the U.S. and have little effect on improving the climate.

Vanderwal is hoping both the House and Senate will stand firm opposing any binding agreement.

Senate Environment and Public Works Chairman Jim Inhofe says the President needs to go through the Senate before any type of climate agreement is approved.
