Clean Up on Northwest Iowa Spill

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources responded to reports of a spill from a semi flatbed trailer earlier this week. The semi rolled into a ditch near highway 9 west of Rock Rapids, spilling soybean herbicide, and about 150 gallons of soybean oil into an unnamed tributary of Mud Creek and Rock River.

Bryon Whiting with the DNR says the clean-up process is complete….

Whiting says there is still no evidence of fish killed or aquatic damage. Whiting says the DNR is pleased with the cleanup…

The DNR collected water samples which will be sent to a lab for analysis.
