Yankton City Commissioners will hold a workshop on a possible noise ordinance ahead of their regular meeting tonight.

A noise ordinance has been under discussion since last summer and complaints of loud music from downtown bars.

City Manager Amy Nelson said there are a number of options in the proposed ordinance…

 

Nelson says they have had several public comments on the direction of the ordinance…

 

Nelson says they have a provision in the ordinance that would directly measure sound levels…

 

The workshop will be held at 5:30 at the Community Meeting Room at the RTEC building. The regular commission meeting will follow at 7pm.
