The organizers of Ribfest asked the City of Yankton to contribute to help them make the move of their event from downtown to Memorial Park.

Ben Hanten, a member of Historic Downtown Yankton, told the city commission this week that they want to rent an appropriate stage for the live music…

The request was for sixty eight hundred dollars. Hanten says they hope it will help them become self-sustaining in future years…

Commissioner Jake Hoffner said he thought it was a good investment…

The commission voted seven one and one to approve the request. The day long Ribfest will be held Saturday, June 7th in Memorial Park.
