Construction is moving ahead on the $ 250 million Prestige Pork Processing Facility South of Eagle Grove, Iowa. City administrator George McGuire says they’re excited about the plant which is scheduled to come on board in a year and half in providing economic development for the region.
He says Prestige will have a state of the art facility that not only will provide 1,000 jobs and positive infusion into the local economy, but will also be good neighbors.
McGuire expects the Prestige Pork plant will lead to more businesses locating or relocating in their community in the future.
McGuire says a big industry like Prestige Pork Processing in a small community is just what rural areas need all over the state of Iowa. He says people understand how important agriculture is to their area.
