Citizens Group Files Lawsuit Against EPA

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics has filed a lawsuit against the EPA because the agency failed to produce communication records related to the 2014 renewable fuels mandate. Citizen’s Group Executive Director Melanie Sloan says their information request is related to a Reuter’s report that the Carlyle Group and Delta Airlines lobbied members of Congress and the administration to reduce the amount of ethanol and other biofuels that must be blended for 2014.
Sloan says EPA is dragging their feet on releasing the information sought through their FOIA request.
Sloan says the public has a right to know how EPA has made their decision regarding the R-F-S.
She adds that it seems the administration has backtracked on its commitment to renewable fuels. She questions if the Obama administration has made a back room type deal orchestrated by big oil.
