Chipotle restaurants will quit using genetically engineered ingredients in their food. South Dakota Soybean Association President John Horter is hoping the decision by the company doesn’t have an impact on soybean growers.

Horter says most farmers use biotechnology and ultimately make a choice to fit their operations.

Horter says it’s important farmers remain engaged with consumers and continually tell their story of how they produce food with the safest and most efficient methods.

Besides Chipotle, other companies like Wal-Mart have been expanding their selection of organic foods and going away from G-M-Os or biotech produced products.
