A Chinese delegation signed framed contracts as an intent to purchase nearly $2 billion of new crop soybeans from the U.S. as part of the Global Trade Exchange taking place this week in Indianapolis. Jim Miller is a Nebraska farmer and the new chair of the U.S. Soybean Export Council. He says the Chinese signing agreement is an annual event at this forum of grain buyers and customers from around the globe.
Miller says the international grain buyers will also have the chance to tour U.S. grain terminals and export infrastructure as part of the exchange.
And those same buyers will tour soybean fields to see the quality of this year’s crop in the U.S., plus put a face on the farmers they’re buying from.
Miller says U.S. grain customers value the quality and consistency of the grain they purchase from the United States.
