China’s President is visiting the United States this week. Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley is hopeful some ag issues will be addressed when President Obama meets with the Chinese leader, including non-scientific trade barriers. He says as a member of the WTO, China needs to play by the rules as it relates to international trade.

Grassley says one major issue with China is how they devalue their currency. He says while that may come up, it likely won’t do any good.

Grassley says there needs to be reciprocity on sanitary and phytosanitary issues when it comes to trade.
