Both China and India are calling on the United States and European Union as well as other wealthy nations to end their farm subsidies. Nebraska Farm Bureau National Affairs Coordinator Jordan Dux says the amount of subsidies paid to America’s farmers are far less than in other countries around the world.

He says it’s ironic both Chinese and Indian officials are complaining about farm subsidies when they’ve been guilty in the past of violating world trading rules.

Dux says President Trump is absolutely correct in demanding that trade agreements be enforced.

The call by China and India comes just weeks before the World Trade Organization is set for annual ministerial meetings in December.
