Chief U.S. Ag Trade negotiator Darci Vetter will speak to U.S. Grains Council members at their 54th Board of Delegates meeting in Omaha this week.  Council Chairman Julius Schaaf says Vetter who was recently confirmed to the trade position is very knowledgeable and a good choice for that job.

Schaaf says Vetter’s talk will focus on China and the recent trade dispute involving MIR 162 in corn.

Schaaf says China back in November rejected an export shipment of unapproved MIR 162 corn from the U.S. He says instead of admitting they had their own supply problems, they banned this bio tech product. Schaaf says every other country except China has approved MIR 162.

USGC Board of Delegates Omaha meeting is today through Wednesday July 28-30.
