The U.S. Trade Representative’s Office is monitoring the implementation of the USMCA trade agreement. That’s the pact signed by the U.S. ,Canada and Mexico which replaces the original NAFTA deal. Chief Ag Trade Negotiator Gregg Doud says the agreement itself has been working fairly well. He says they are keeping an eye on Canada to make sure they honor specifically the dairy provisions in the USMCA.

He says another trade provision his office is watching is to make sure Mexico follows through with its biotech agreements.

USMCA was one of the major trade victories for the Trump administration in 2020. It replaces the original North American Free Trade Agreement reached in 1994
