A major chicken processing plant is moving forward in eastern Nebraska.

Jessica Kolterman with Lincoln Premium Poultry says construction has been going slowly lately, due to the weather.

The Lincoln Premium Poultry site in Fremont will include a feed mill, processing facility, and hatchery.

Kolterman  says more growers are needed.

She says job hiring for the feed mill, processing plant, and hatchery will take place in about a year.

The facility is expected to open in mid-2019.
