Veterans and the public will have the chance to learn about the damage chemical warfare has on those who serve in the armed forces. Vietnam Veteran and President of the South Dakota Vietnam Veterans of America Council, Roland Lambert, says the Agent Orange Town Hall meeting will include past and present veterans’ concerns.

Lambert says the event will be held at the Legion in Pierre Saturday at 1:00 p.m. to help veterans understand the diseases that accompany certain chemical exposure.

This event, along with a parade on Sunday, are part of the “Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Recognition Day” on Monday, March 30th. Lambert says he hopes plenty of people will take part in the effort to thank those who were never properly welcomed home.

Lambert says that roughly 23,000 South Dakotans took part in the Vietnam War.
