Some of the state’s top chefs will be competing in the South Dakota Pork Producers Council Taste of Elegance Contest in Sioux Falls on Sunday. The Council’s Program Director Stacey Sorlien is coordinating the 28th annual event. She says the contest began as a way to broaden the use of pork on restaurant menus and show the versatility of various pork cuts at the center of the plate.
She says seven Sioux Falls area chefs are have created new and exciting pork recipes for this year’s Taste of Elegance Contest and will be judged and critiqued by a panel of professional chef’s.
The chef’s also have the opportunity to share their entrees with the public. The Taste of Elegance event kicks off with a social hour at 5pm and the banquet and awards at 6pm. Tickets are still available at the South Dakota Pork Producers office for $45.
