Convicted killer Charles Rhines was executed by lethal injection at the South Dakota State Penitentiary Monday night at 7:39 PM. That followed hours of delay waiting on the final appeals to the US Supreme Court. Rhines was convicted for the 1992 murder of 22-year-old Donnivan Schaeffer of Rapid City.
