Changes Underway at South Dakota Human Services Center

A recent federal report indicated excessive use of restraints on patients at the Human Services Center in Yankton. That was in a series of stories on problems and issues found at the state hospital.

Troy Jones joined the staff as administrator in May, and says they are already seeing improvements in the use of restrictive interventions…..

Jones says the use of restraints is dangerous to patients, and staff…..

Jones says he is working toward open communications for all of the staff at the HSC….

Jones says they want to hire the necessary staff to eliminate any mandatory overtime.
