President-Elect Donald Trump made a campaign promise to end Obamacare. That would impact about 20-million Americans who currently rely on it for health insurance. Art Jetter is an Omaha insurance agent and says if they do away with Obamacare and replace it with something else, those people could remain insured. He says if they are going to fix the marketplace they need to go back to see what worked.
Jetter says there were some things that Obamacare got right – covering pre-existing conditions and insuring children longer on their parents policies.
Jetter says there were unintended consequences of the Affordable Care Act that hurt the program and should be changed when lawmakers replace it.
Jetter says people still must sign up for their health care coverage and the Marketplace enrollment ends on December 15th.
