Changes Coming To South Dakota Retirement System

The trustees of the South Dakota State Retirement System are looking at some changes to make sure the fund does not run short in the future.

Lieutenant Governor Matt Michels is a member of that board, and says they over see a massive amount of money…

Returns on the investments of those dollars have fallen short of predictions in the past year.

Michels says any changes they make would be only for new people joining the system…

Michels says they may want to make changes to stretch out the payback time line…

The state retirement system is available to most public employees in the state.
