A legal challenge has been filed on an amendment scheduled to be on the June primary ballot in South Dakota.

One of the plaintiffs is Dave Owen, President of the State Chamber of Commerce & Industry……

“Amendment C” on the June ballot would require super majority approval on ballot initiatives that raise taxes and spend money.

Owen, who is joining the suit as a citizen, says the amendment seems to have at least two topics….

Owen says they hope the courts rule before the June election, but the timing is not critical….

The South Dakota Supreme Court ruled that “Amendment A” approved by voters in November of 2020 legalizing marijuana was invalid because it violated the single subject rule.
