The Center for Rural Affairs has put together a document to help farmers get a better understanding of the new Whole Farm Revenue Protection crop insurance program. Center’s Policy Manager Anna Johnson says WFRP has been underused and they want to help producers see how they can cover their operations from a diversified standpoint rather than just traditional crops like corn, wheat and soybeans.

She says part of the reason WFRP is underused is many producers are just unfamiliar with it and how it can help them.

Johnson says CFRA has issued a white paper that lists all the information on Whole Farm Revenue Protection which is available on their website.

Johnson says they’re trying to help producer understand that crop insurance is a viable risk management option. She says they’ve put out this white paper so producers have time to study it before the next signup deadline comes up next March.
