The second round of the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program payments got underway a couple of weeks ago and the deadline to apply for the assistance is December 11. Center for Rural Affairs Policy Manager Anna Johnson is advising farmers and ranchers to apply for the help as this round contains valuable assistance for smaller producers.
She says some new commodities are eligible for this CFAP round.
Johnson says when applying make sure you have all your records together although there isn’t a ton of information required.
Johnson says to apply call your local Farm Service Agency office and make an appointment. She says the Center for Rural Affairs can also help with any questions producers have.
