The Center for Rural Affairs has issued a fact sheet that examines tax revenue potential from solar energy projects. CFRA Policy Associate Heidi Kolbeck Urlacher says solar project development is increasing in South Dakota which could have a positive impact on tax revenue for the counties where they’re located.

She says as the size of the solar projects increase, the potential for more tax revenue for South Dakota’s counties increases.

Urlacher says both wind and solar projects are making great strides in South Dakota.

The three major solar projects currently located in South Dakota are West River in Pennington, Ogallala Lakota and Fall River counties.
