Farm Service Agency officials were kept busy Tuesday as the three month enrollment period for the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program opened for farmers and ranchers. Bobbie Kriz Wickham with the Nebraska FSA State office says their county service centers were very busy Tuesday but are working to help producers get through the application process as quickly as possible.
She says those interested in applying for the assistance should phone ahead to their FSA county office and set up an appointment. Wickham says those will be handled over the phone as there is no in office traffic allowed. She also says they have a website with all of the application information available.
Wickham says once an application is approved, payments will go out fairly quickly.
Wickham says if a producer has any questions or needs assistance, their website is the best place to go to at farmers.gov/cfap. The enrollment runs through August 28 of 2020.
