Center for Rural Affairs officials are working with Nebraska State Senator Tom Brandt on a broadband mapping bill. Center Policy Director Johnathan Hladik says the need for the measure came about because of incorrect broadband access mapping.
He says now the Federal Communications Commission is calling on states to validate their broadband access information.
Hladik says their legislation calls for broadband providers to be accountable and for mapping information to be gathered correctly.
Hladik says Senator Brandt intends to introduce his legislation early in the 2020 session.
