The USDA has announced $152 million in rural broadband development funding. The funds support developing and improving rural broadband service across 14 states. Center for Rural Affairs Policy Director Johnathan Hladik says the funding is helpful but more needs to be done to increase rural broadband access, especially in Nebraska.

He says the Center is working with the FCC for trying to improve the mapping so that more broadband access can be provided based on proper and correct information.

Hladik says anyone needing help with achieving better access to broadband can check with their state or federal government representatives or contact the Center for Rural Affairs for assistance.

Hladik says they’ll also be pushing the Unicameral in January to move ahead on broadband issues.
