Nebraskans decided to expand Medicaid in Tuesday’s election by approving Initiative 427. Center for Rural Affairs backed the measure. Policy Manager Jordan Rasmussen says the expansion will be very helpful for rural areas of the state and provide health insurance coverage to those not covered now.
She says work on implementing the measure will begin right away.
Rasmussen says contrary to opponents contention, expanding Medicaid will bring economic benefits.
Rasmussen says having Medicaid expanded will help residents gain preventative health care options.
