Cedar County Nebraska officials are thankful for the flood recovery assistance they’ve received from the State Farm Bureau and the donated bridge from a Virginia Scrap and Metal business owner. Cedar County Commissioner Craig Bartels says they’ve had several bridges damaged from this year’s flooding and to get a bridge donated to them is very much appreciated.

He says they still have work to do to fit the bridge in the right place in the county.

Bartels says all the donations they’ve gotten from Virginia and the Nebraska Farm Bureau come at a good time as they try to recover from this spring’s disaster.

Nebraska’s road crews are working to repair 3,000 miles of roads that were closed due to damage. The number of county bridges damaged is still unknown although the Nebraska Department of Transportation estimates that 27 state bridges were washed out or damaged this year.
