The phrase “In God We Trust” will soon be displayed on the walls of the Cedar County Courthouse in Hartington.

County Commissioners voted unanimously at their meeting Tuesday to place the words on the wall.
Commission Chairman Dave McGregor says it makes sense….

Barb Otto of Valentine made a presentation to the commissioners to encourage them to add the phrase. She has been traveling around the state, talking to county commissions.

McGregor says they will probably start with the phrase in their meeting room…………

McGregor says their county attorney didn’t have a problem with the proposal….

He says it will be up to the judges that use the courtroom if the phrase appears there.
