The USMCA trade agreement which has been ratified in both the United States and Mexico is being heard in committee in Canada’s Parliament. Fawn Jackson is the Senior Manager of Government and Foreign Relations for the Canadian Cattlemen’s Association. She says the measure is progressing well and they are hoping for an expect passage.

She says USMCA once approved will be very beneficial for farmers and ranchers in all three countries, Canada, Mexico and the United States.

Jackson says once Canada ratifies the USMCA, then it’ll go into effect two months after that.

Jackson says at this point there is very strong support in Canada’s Parliament for the agreement.
