Cattle producers know the value of promoting U-S beef through the export markets with nations such as Mexico, Japan, South Korea, and many others prefer the taste of U-S beef.  Bilynn Johnson is a cow-calf producer from Happy, Texas and a director with the Cattlemen’s Beef Board.  She explains why cattle producers seek to export U-S beef.  Johnson tells how the beef checkoff funding is used to open beef exports to other nations.  Johnson says U-S beef exports have been able to penetrate other countries, and so beef exports are performing well, and contributing to the overall consumer demand for U-S beef, which has resulted in better market prices for cattle producers.  The U-S Meat Export Federation reports that beef exports have exceeded one billion dollars.
