South Dakota voters this week returned incumbents to both the Senate and House., re-electing Mike Rounds to the Senate and Dusty Johnson to the House. South Dakota Cattlemen’s Association President Eric Jennings says his group has worked well with both Rounds and Johnson on several issues and looks forward to continuing that work.

He says it helps to have policy makers in place who understand issues important for cattle producers.

Jennings says some of the changes from the election including the defeat of House Ag Committee Chairman Collin Peterson will mean they’ll have some educating to do with his replacement as well as with all the new office holders.

Jennings says his group is ready, willing and able to work with whoever gets elected and they’ll be focusing on that going forward.
