Iowa Cattlemen Association leaders think Tuesdays sweep by the Republicans in gaining control of the U.S. Senate will help them get their message through to lawmakers. Cattlemen’s President Ed Greiman says Joni Ernst’s Senate win over Congressman Bruce Braley will give them an opening to make their views known.
Greiman says Tuesday’s election also should help his group make headway against unneeded regulations and the recent overreach by agencies like EPA. He’s especially hopeful they’ll be able to slow down or stop the Waters of the U.S. proposed rule.
Greiman says whether those in office are Democrats or Republicans as long as they get the chance to speak with them, they’re confident they’ll be able to get their message through on important issues.
