Nebraska Cattlemen’s Association Vice President of member services, Melody Benjamin says the State Brand Committee is taking the proper steps of addressing problems raised by a recent state audit. She says she’s attended committee meetings for nearly 17 years and thinks they’re acting proactively.

She says the Nebraska Brand Committee is made up of volunteer members and with the resignation of both the Executive and Assistant Directors need someone to lead the panel.

Benjamin says the Brand Committee has done a good and thorough job in what they’ve been charged to do. She thinks despite recent accusations it’ll all work out.

A recent audit listed several problems with the Brand Committee and its former Executive Director Shawn Harvey who resigned and then was hired to serve in a new position with the committee.
