Cattle market reform, tax policy and the future of carbon capture will top the policy discussions at the Iowa Cattle Industry Leadership Summit and Annual Meeting. Anna Hastert, Director of Communications with the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association, encourages producers to get involved in shaping policy surrounding these topics on the first day of the meeting.

She says they will discuss Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley’s Cattle Price Discovery and Transparency Act. They recently met with him to discuss the mechanics for getting the bill introduced and passed by Congress.

Hastert says the trade show returns to the summit this year and there will be a wide variety of educational opportunities.

They are expecting 200 plus cattle producers for the meeting scheduled for December 15 and 16 in Ames.
