The Trans Pacific Partnership trade deal involving the U.S. with 11 other countries is officially dead for the United States. Incoming President Donald Trump said during his election campaign he would withdraw from that deal on day one and Congressional leaders won’t bring it up for a vote. Cattle groups had hoped the trade deal would pass and going forward South Dakota Cattlemen’s President Todd Wilkinson is interested to see how President Trump pursues trade.
Wilkinson says if Trump can move forward bilateral trade deals, he’s in favor of that as long as U.S. beef can get sold in export markets.
President-elect Trump’s goal is to negotiate fair bilateral trade agreements that bring jobs and industry back onto America’s shores.
