Mexico’s President wants House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to move forward quickly on ratification of the USMCA trade agreement. He has sent a letter to Pelosi asking her to speed up that process. Nebraska Cattlemen Association President Mike Drinnen says he’s encouraged by that and thinks that not only does Mexico want the deal to get done but so do many groups in all three countries.

He says Mexico has already promised to address House Democratic leaders concerns on labor so it’s now time to get the ratification completed.

A vote on the USMCA is possible as soon as November but that could get pushed into December. Drinnen says the quicker it gets done the better.

Indications are that the votes are there for ratification of the trade deal in both the House and Senate and Drinnen says in the long run it will be beneficial for everyone.
