The economic impact the cattle industry makes in South Dakota will be the focus of this weekend’s SDSU Beef Bowl in Brookings. Karla Pazour of Pukwana chairs the South Dakota Beef Industry Council. She says they also use the event to recognize some of the individuals and businesses that help promote beef through their Prime Promoters awards.
Pazour says they ‘ll also hold the annual budget meeting for the state’s beef checkoff to determine the programs they’ll fund in the next year.
The annual meeting is open to all cattle producers and starts at 9am on Saturday at the Staurolite in Brookings. The Beef Council will also be sponsoring some tailgating activities prior to the game at 6pm.
