May is Beef Month and it will be a busy time of beef promotions for the industry. The South Dakota Beef Industry Council is highlighting the state’s cattle producers and the 4 million head of cattle they raise. Council President Laurie Johnson says it is also a great time to thank them for the positive contribution they make to the economy.

The Council is launching several beef promotions including their newest “Reclaim the Summer” campaign encouraging everyone to get out and grill beef this summer.

Johnson says they have other promotions planning such as the Sioux Falls Storm Hall of Fame Game.

Beef will also be highlighted at the Prairie Fire Steak Contest, Deadwood Xtreme Bulls and by the state’s Junior Beef Ambassadors in their local communities.
