One of the priorities for incoming South Dakota Cattlemen’s Association President Larry Stomprud is working with state legislators and the Governor to find funding for the new Animal Disease Research and Diagnostic Lab at South Dakota State University.
He says another policy priority of their members is to work with President Elect Donald Trump and the new Congress to lessen federal regulations on agriculture.
Stomprud says specifically they want to see complete rollback of the Waters of the U.S. rule and repeal of many of President Obama’s executive actions including the misuse of the endangered species and antiquities acts. He says Association members also want to help the new Congress and President know the importance of trade agreements.
Stomprud is encouraged by many of the appointments made by President Elect Trump who seem to be friendly to agriculture.
