National Cattlemen Beef Association leaders are focusing on trying to convince Congress to approve the Trans Pacific Partnership trade deal before they adjourn for the fall elections. NCBA Vice President of Government Affairs Colin Woodall says not having that deal in place is costing the U.S. cattle industry a significant amount of money every day.
He says time is running short for getting that agreement over the finish line.
Woodall says all trade agreements going forward including the Trans Atlantic or TTIP deal hinges on approval of the Trans Pacific Partnership.
Woodall says the most likely scenario is for Congress to take up consideration of TPP during the lame duck session.
