One of the goals of the Trump administration is to redo the North American Free Trade Agreement or withdraw from it completely. R CALF CEO Bill Bullard says while it will be a heavy lift, redoing it should at least be attempted. He says their number one priority in any remake is making sure beef is labeled from its country of origin.

He says the current means of labeling is misleading.

Bullard says the U.S. negotiators may need to reinstitute tariffs on Mexico and Canada so that U.S. domestic industries are protected.

Bullard says part of the major problem with the current NAFTA deal is that the U.S. is importing far more than it is exporting to either Canada or Mexico.
