The increasing concentration in the U.S. cattle industry is making it more vulnerable to those groups or entities who want to control it. That’s according to R CALF CEO Bill Bullard. He’ll be speaking about that and about the dangers of the Global Roundtable for Sustainable Beef at meetings in Valentine and Brewster, Nebraska next week. He says the concentration has caused a market bottleneck.

He says that concentration is leading to the elimination of competitive markets.

Bullard says the Global Roundtable For Sustainable Beef wants beef to be identified as being from North America rather than from the US. He says they’re also opposed to country of origin labeling for mainly that reason.

Bullard speaks at 7p.m. in both Valentine and Brewster. The Valentine meeting is Thursday October 19 and the Brewster meeting is Friday October 20.
