Last week, the House Natural Resources Committee sent out of committee, legislation to give authority over management of the Gray Wolf back to the states. Minnesota Cattlemen’s Association Executive Director Ashley Kohls says her group has been working on that issue for some time, so they’re pleased the committee moved the measure along.

She says according to state figures just released the Gray Wolf has recovered so this House legislation is very timely.

Kohls says the Endangered Species Act is suppose to work properly and this recent House measure brings needed reforms to it to get that accomplished.

Kohls says the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is in the best position to control the Wolf population so she’s hoping this measure will receive full passage in Congress
