Both the US House and Senate passed legislation this week aimed at supporting career and technical training programs. The Perkins Career and Technical Education bill is now headed to the President’s desk. Minnesota Senator Tina Smith says the legislation can help end the stigma that exists for students who don’t end up going to a four-year college.
Smith said one of the provisions she added to the bill was to provide the education for people who want to teach skill and technical training courses.
