The two candidates for the District 18 state Senate seat met in a forum last night in Yankton.

Long time republican legislator Jean Hunhoff is looking to move to the Senate, while newcomer democrat Jordan Foos is making his first run at any office.

The first question was what the biggest challenge is facing the state. Foos says he is hearing one topic across the board….

Hunhoff agrees that Covid is a major issue, but it relates to all state operations….

Foos says there are other challenges the legislature will face next year….

Hunhoff says its always a question of how best to use state tax revenues….

Incumbent democratic Senator Craig Kennedy decided not to run for reelection which opened the Senate seat.
