Four people have emerged as candidates to replace Bob Stallman as president of the American Farm Bureau Federation. Stallman announced this week he wil not run for re-election in January of 2016. South Dakota Farm Bureau President, Scott Vanderwal says the four candidates announced their intentions at a meeting of farm bureau state presidents in Washington D.C.
Vanderwal says the four are: Current AFBF Vice President, Barry Bushoe of Oregon; Georgia Farm Bureau President, Debbie Duvall; Indiana Farm Bureau President, Don Villwock; and Arizona Farm Bureau President, Kevin Rogers. He says they all have great experience with the organization.
Vanderwal says Stallman, a cattle and rice producer from Texas who has served 16 years as AFBF’s leader, has done a great job.
The new AFBF President will be elected to a two year term at the 97th annual meeting of voting delegates during the group’s convention in January.
