The remake of NAFTA, the USMCA is a win for all three countries. That’s according to John Masswohl, Director of Government and International Relations for the Canadian Cattlemen’s Association. He says cattle in all three countries will see benefits from the agreement.

He says having the USMCA in place should help both Canada and the U.S. with their upcoming trade negotiations with the European Union.

Masswohl doesn’t see any problems with the virtual veto power provision of the new USMCA either. He says after reading the provision, it doesn’t hamper any trade activities by either Mexico, Canada or the U.S. on any bilateral deals they attempt to negotiate.

That provision is aimed at non market countries such as China.
