Now that early voting is underway in South Dakota, the next milepost will be campaign finance reports.
Secretary of State Shantel Krebs says that reporting deadline is late next month…
She says local candidates have different rules and requirements..
Krebs says most groups and political action committees also have to file reports…
She says it is much more difficult to track the so called “dark money” from groups that are unaffiliated with a candidate but choose to support or oppose them. Krebs says most of those are national groups.
