California Dairy Producer Says Ag Secretary’s Comments At Expo Were Unfortunate

Speaking at World Dairy Expo in Madison, Wisconsin this week, Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue told smaller dairy producers to basically stop whining, your demise is inevitable. He added that the big get bigger and the small go out and that he doesn’t think in America for any small business there’s a guaranteed income or guaranteed profitability. California Dairy Producer Steve Maddox says he thinks the Secretary’s comments were unfortunate.

Some small dairy producers were disappointed that the Secretary did not address five years of falling farm prices, increasing bankruptcies and climbing suicide rates.
